The DJI rumour mill is in full swing once more, and this time it has produced material that would excite a very large number of drone aficionados. It looks like DJI is getting ready to launch less expensive, more affordable Mavic 3 and Mini 3 Pro drones, and that too just in time for the holiday shopping season.

Mavic 3 Classic And Mini 3 Drones, New From DJI?

Despite the lack of detailed information on how it would differ from the basic model of the aircraft, which is presently available for $2,049, the leaker seems certain that the next version of the Mavic 3 consumer drone series would be dubbed Mavic 3 Classic. One possibility is that Mavic 3 Classic will not have a telephoto lens when it launches and will instead forgo the dual-camera system found on Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine.

The leaker refers to a drone that has the same camera as the $909 Mini 3 Pro but lacks obstacle avoidance sensors as the non-pro version of the Mini 3. The DJI Mini 3 Pro is the company’s most potent sub-250 gramme drone yet. The drone manufacturer had to make significant design adjustments to the device in order to fit an obstacle detecting system inside the drone’s minuscule frame.

In essence, the Mavic 3 and Mini 3 Pro are both very good drones, but the cost has been the main worry for most consumers. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring back more affordable, simplified variations of these drones to increase the market. Given the present economic situation, the lower price points would enable DJI to draw in more clients in emerging nations as well. It wouldn’t be the first time that DJI reintroduced a product at a reduced cost, however.
