In order to access more than a few hours of video history from Nest security cameras, Google is raising the cost of its Nest Aware and Nest Aware Plus subscriptions.
According to 9to5Google, the price of Nest Aware has jumped from $6 per month or $60 per year to $8 per month or $80 per year. Since 2020, there hasn’t been a price increase for the video recording plan. Event video history, which is recorded when the camera detects something, is still available to users for 30 days.
The price of Nest Aware Plus, the highest tier subscription, has increased from $12/month to $15/month or $150/year. Users continue to receive 10 days of 24/7 video history and 60 days of event history.
9to5Google stated that the new customer price increase will take effect on September 1st. On November 6, current US consumers will notice the price increase. Prior to any price hikes, other nations will be notified at least one month in advance.
