How To Restart Apple Watch, Even If It’s Not Responsive

Apple Watch typically operates without needing to be shut down frequently. However, it’s crucial to try this if your wearable is unresponsive or you’re experiencing other issues. Continue reading to learn how to force an Apple Watch to restart and how to restart it manually.

According to Apple, the typical procedure for restarting Apple Watch is to switch it off and back on.

    Restarting an Apple Watch

Ensure that your Apple Watch is not charging because restarts won’t function while it is.

The side button (oval-shaped) next to the Digital Crown should be pressed and held.

Use the slider to deactivate it when the power off screen appears.

Tap the power button in the upper right corner of watchOS 9, then move the slider.

To finish the process, press and hold the side button once more.

How to force an Apple Watch restart

A force restart can be required if your wearable isn’t responding or functioning normally. Make sure it’s off the charger before attempting a force restart, just like a normal restart.

For at least 10 seconds, press and hold the side button and the Digital Crown.

As soon as you see the Apple logo, release the buttons.
