Nothing, the consumer tech business co-founded by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, will unveil its first smartphone on July 12th. Following the launching of its Ear 1 truly wireless earphones last year, the Nothing Phone 1 will be the company’s second product. The broadcast will begin at 11 a.m. ET, while the in-person event will take place in London. The launch is dubbed Nothing (event): Return to Instinct by Nothing.
Several features of the smartphone have previously been teased and confirmed by the manufacturer. The business teased specifics of its Nothing OS launcher, which would operate on Android 11, during an event in March. Last month, a beta version of this launcher was made available. According to reports, the phone would have transparent parts in its design, lighting LED strips on the rear, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU.
Nothing’s goal of creating an ecosystem of networked smart gadgets has progressed to the smartphone. It intends to manufacture some of these linked gadgets in-house while partnering with third-party manufacturers on others.
