Cyberpunk 2077 is a title that has been more like a fantasy than a reality to date. After years and years of waiting, the release date was officially set for 2020, and our anticipation knew no bounds. The date had been scheduled for April 16. It was actually going to be until it wasn’t. The Cyberpunk 2077 release date was delayed again.

I always recall the very first preview CD Projekt Red launched some 7 years ago. How captivating it was! I recall being so intrigued by this little video that it was all I could think about going to bed. I kept fantasizing about what the world would be like. This lasted for a couple of days.

Days changed into weeks, weeks into months, and it was 2018 shortly. It all came back to me when the CDPR released a trailer.

Cyberpunk 2077 Release Date Delayed Again?

Having played the Witcher series in the years before, I realized I was right to be so intrigued by Cyberpunk 2077. Witcher was a master class; just imagine what developers would do after 7 years of work.

The trouble was, there was no indication of the release date for the 2018 trailer. CDPR dropped a 45-minute gameplay that was released shortly after the teaser, too. Once, there was nothing on the list.

Finally, one more teaser came out last year, and man did it send chills down my spine. Not only did it reveal one of the best characters imaginable (you know, Keanu Reeves) but it also eventually announced a release date. The game was set for April 16, 2020.

Unfortunately, the developers have reported a five-month delay in the update. It was too far, despite being so close. And then the coronavirus episode has just taken over our world.

I was persuaded that I wouldn’t be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 in my life. Surely there was another pause in the wings?

Not this time, man!

CD Project Group President & CEO Adam Kiciński had some heart-warming announcements for us.

“There is no lack of inspiration, and we do have all the resources needed to promote remote work. We have been working in this fashion for over three weeks, and the reports show that we will continue with all of our operations without significant disturbances. The plans have not changed; we’re steaming for the launch of Cyberpunk in September. “Music to my ears, Mr. KiciÅ„ski. I hope that his words turn out to be real. I’ve been waiting way too long, any more delays I may lose my mind.

Yet honestly, I have no doubt that it will have been worth the wait. Even if the date of September 17 needs to be moved a little farther forward. PI have confidence in the CD Projeckt Red.

In another great piece of news, developers recently announced that another Witcher game is coming out next. What else could anyone have wanted?
