GoPro ‘Mini’ Leaks In A Nod To The Session Cameras Of Yesterday

There’s a chance that GoPro launches other cameras this year in addition to the expected Hero 11 Black. According to leaked pictures posted by WinFuture, GoPro is putting the finishing touches on a more compact surprise that resembles a more recent version of the now-discontinued Session action cams.

The gadget, allegedly named the Hero 11 Black Mini, is in line with GoPro’s plans to broaden its selection of cameras. It has a large camera sensor on the front, one button for Bluetooth communication, foldable “fingers” for attachment, and a flat bottom. The Mini, as its name suggests, resembles a scaled-down version of the impending Hero 11 Black, with the exception that it lacks front- and back-facing screens.

The latest GoPro Session camera was introduced in 2016, and it stood out for not having a display and having a more compact form, but that’s about where the similarities between the Session and the alleged Hero Mini end. The Session is a small cube with a camera that takes up the whole front of the gadget and bears little similarity to the other Hero devices at the time, while the Mini adopts the design of the Hero 11 Black camera it is named after. When GoPro released its Hero 7 cameras in 2018, it finally removed the Session from its portfolio.

No information is available on the Mini’s camera sensors and other internals’ anticipated power. According to reports, the basic GoPro Hero 11 Black will look the same, but it may include a new sensor that can capture still photos with a resolution of 27 megapixels and video stills with a resolution of 24.7 megapixels. Additionally, it is said to still be capable of recording 5.3K video at 60 frames per second (or 4K at 120fps). For the Mini, WinFuture anticipates a nearly as powerful gadget in a smaller form factor, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
